Saturday 21 March - depart Melbourne approx 7.00am.  Arrive Launceston and bus  to Start of Frenchman’s Cap walk.  Approx 4hr bus trip.  Walk to Lodden River.  Distance 7km.  Estimated walking time 2 – 3 hours.

DINNER - Eye fillet steak with hashfried potatoes, mustard and silverbeet
DESSERT - Chocolate fudge brownie


Sunday 22 March - walk to Lake Vera.  Distance 9 kms.  Estimated walking time 2.5 – 3.5 hrs.

BREAKFAST
- Bacon, eggs and tomato with kasoundi and toast

LUNCH - Toasted ham, tom ad cheese sambos

DINNER -
Slow braised veal shanks with porcini mushrooms, lemon and parsley served on polenta
DESSERT – xmas pudding with custard


Monday 23 March - walk to Lake Tahune.  Distance 4.5 kms.  Estimated walking time 3.5 – 5hrs.

BREAKFAST - Pancakes with strawberries and cream

LUNCH - Ploughman’s - A lovely selection of preserved meats, pickles, cheeses, crackers and chutney

DINNER – lamb, poppy seed and almond curry with basmati rice
DESSERT- self saucing chocolate pudding


Tuesday 24 March – climb Frenchman’s Cap.  Distance 2.6 kms.  Estimated walking time 1.5 – 2hrs return.

BREAKFAST –
Fruit toast with butter and cherry jam

LUNCH - Ploughman’s - A lovely selection of preserved meats, pickles, cheeses, crackers and chutney

DINNER –  chic pea, saffron and preserved lemon tagine with vegetables, couscous and coriander
DESSERT – freshly made lamingtons


Wednesday 25 March - walk to Irenabyss on the Franklin.  Distance 5.3 kms.  Estimated walking time 3 – 4hrs.

BREAKFAST – Toasted almond muesli with blueberry compote

DINNER -
chorizo, saffron and roasted pepper paella with smoked mussels
DESSERT – meringues with chocolate sauce


Thursday 26 March - walk to Mary Creek Plains.  Distance 6.4 kms.  Estimated walking time 4 – 5 hrs.

DINNER –
Broccoli pasta with baby capers, lemon and parmesan

Friday 27 March - walk to Victoria Pass.  Distance 14.1 kms.  Estimated walking time 4.5 – 5.5 hrs.  Rendezvous with bus and drive to Launceston
