afghan biscuits

these are a great seller here at the cafe that can either finished with a great dollop of chocolate ganache, or, as per the photos on this site you can stick some smarties in the top pre cooking to make a fun dottie for the kids


Afghan Biscuits


200 g butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups plain flour
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 cup corn flakes, slightly crushed
1/2 cup desiccated coconut

Directions

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, sift together flour and cocoa and mix into butter mix, then fold in corn flakes and coconut.
Put teaspoonful balls (we do 80gms for afghans and 40gms for dotties) onto lightly greased or baking paper covered trays.
Bakes at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.
Makes about 30 biscuits.
